Bruce DelMonico, Assistant Dean and Director of Admissions at Yale School of Management, announced essays and deadlines for admission to Yale’s full-time MBA program in 2014-15 for the class of 2017. Yale has consolidated two essay questions from last year with 750 words into a single essay question with 500 words. The application is expected to go live in one months’ time.

Essay #1: “The Yale School of Management educates individuals who will have deep and lasting impact on the organization they lead. Describe how you have positively influenced an organization – as an employee, a member, or an outside constituent. (500 words maximum)

Yale SOM Additional Essays From 2013-14

Last year, in addition to the two essay questions there were couple of steps that applicants had to complete.

Short Goals Essay: Please provide any additional information you feel will help us understand these career interests more fully. (150 words maximum)

Video Essays: After submitting the application, applicants were invited to record video essays within a few days. Applicants had to answer three questions with preparation time of 20 seconds and recording time of 90 seconds. An example is, You are meeting your business school classmates for the first time. What is the most important thing they should know about you?
