The IESE Business School, located in Barcelona, is a leading business school in Europe. Founded in 1958, IESE has been offering a two-year MBA degree since 1963, after forming an alliance with Harvard Business School in the same year. Over the years, IESE Business School’s MBA program has consistently been ranked as one of the best in the world, coming in at no. 13 in the recent Financial Times’ Global MBA Rankings 2020

Later this year, IESE Business School would have the honor of hosting the annual AIGAC conference in May 2020. Previously, the AIGAC conference has been held at leading business schools around the world including HBS, Wharton, Stanford, Kellogg, Chicago Booth, MIT Sloan, Yale, INSEAD, LBS and more.

Change of Guard at IESE’s Admissions Office

Pascal Michels

Earlier this week, Pascal Michels shared that he is stepping down from his current position as Director of MBA Admissions at IESE. Michels, who’s an alumnus of IESE Business School himself, has held the position of Director of MBA Admissions since July 2017, and has led a global team of 11 MBA educated associate directors and 8 support staff based in Barcelona, Madrid, London, New York, São Paulo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and Singapore. He has also chaired the Admissions and Scholarship committees for IESE’s full-time MBA, recruiting 350 students per year. Michels professional journey with IESE began in 2013, when he joined the business school as an Associate Director of MBA Admissions for the DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) market. He’s worked in various other positions at the business school, including Associate Director for Finance Career Services and a Career Advisor. His previous work experience also includes working as the Vice President at Citi Private Bank, as well as an EU Official for the European Commision. He graduated from IESE Business School with an MBA in 2010, while also holding a Masters in Management from the NEOMA Business School.

IESE’s New Head of Admissions: Paula Amorim

Pascal Michels will be succeeded by Paula Amorim, who is currently the Associate Director of Admissions in São Paulo at IESE Business School, and is responsible for recruiting and admitting top talented candidates in Central and South America for the school’s fifteen and nineteen month full-time MBA program in Barcelona. She also coordinates the global recruitment of our Master in Management in Madrid at IESE Business School. Having held the position since May 2016, Amorim’s previous work experience includes working as a Senior Consultant for TOTVS, a business solutions provider for companies of all sizes that markets management software, productivity and collaboration platforms and consulting in Brazil. Amorim also holds an MBA degree from IESE Business School, from where she graduated in 2016. Paula will have the able support of her admissions colleagues in Barcelona, who have been a part of the Admissions Team for some time now, and have also graduated from IESE with an MBA degree.
